Cousin Z

Cousin time is always a good times. Meet Mr. Z, Liv's cousin. Spent the weekend with him and his sister E in Bear Lake... oh, the dynamics of 3 kiddos 3 and under. He's a tough as they come, but so soft and squishy at the same time... love him.

Saturday

Seriously, it has been too long...

Today was super niece and nephews day at our household.
The morning began with a school project with 11 year old Austin, needing a "Wow" visual thesis for class on Monday.

He immediately thought of his super cool uncle (my mans) and his skateboarding skills, and decided he would be his muse for the project.
We waited for the break in the snowstorm (yes, snow) to go shoot.
Granted, Austin had to take the wheel for his project, so we set him up with a camera and headed out.

There was a bit of photographic instruction as he became frustrated "missing the shot", but in the end achieved, what I think, to be a "wow" moment.

Not to bad for eleven year-old cat and a three-year old pocket Cannon...

Nonetheless, this mama got back on a skateboard.
Yep, you heard it. I was able to roll around a bit in shaky confidence.
It felt good, real good.
So good, I jumped into the peanut bowl to roll around a bit.

It wasn't a pretty site, but once I started pumping around the bowl over and over, something took hold.
I was sent back to a place.
A place before broken bones, babies and fear.

I had my own "wow" moment.
I loved it. Loved, loved, loved it.
And I thought of others...KM & MA, keep on fighting.

Then, I took some more photos, which I also loved, loved, loved.

And I smiled.

Sunday

Utah State Fair

have you been to a fair lately?
I have not.
actually, I should have stopped at my last Fair moment, Weber County Fair, a scone and Willie Nelson...need I say more?
having a child, you yearn to experience worn times as though they were your first.
so today, we headed to the Utah State Fair.
what did we encounter?
foot long corn dogs, overpriced rides and line butters (butters?, it's a competitive world, even to get on the carousel).

amidst the contrived environment, we gazed upon Livy's eager eyes at the biggest cow ever (old Red, 2,900 pounds, seriously huge), felt her first butterflies on the NYFD ride and reminisced at a child's desperation as we walked away.

it was a good day.

Monday

Snake River

My opening post....ah, what words to use? I am ecstatic about my upcoming website and new blog and ready to share with the world what I see through my lens.
Spent the weekend with my love on the boat, floating the Snake River and capturing some shots of the days, (unfortunately, no fish).
